Overview
Established in 1988 to work with children and young people who have experienced challenges in life, Moore House Group has developed into a growing and dynamic organisation providing a range of services including Moore House Academy – Butterstone, offering day and residential places.
Working in partnership with teaching staff, the postholder will contribute to the effectiveness of the Academy to the benefit of the children and young people, including meeting key learning objectives and a clear understanding of support strategies for the children and young people they are working with.
The role of Support for Learning Assistant can be emotionally and physically challenging at times, so it is essential that the postholder is resilient and possesses the emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations, as well as being empathetic to individual needs and communication difficulties of the children and young people at the Academy.
Experience of working with children and young people who have complex support needs, autism or complex learning needs would be desirable.
The postholder will enjoy working 35 hours per week, term-time, as well as having access to a well-developed comprehensive training programme, including Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP). They will also have access to a free confidential employee assistance programme and the Group pension scheme.
