📢 Exciting news! Our newest residential service, Kettle Mill, has been awarded a Grade 5 (Very Good) inspection result by the Care Inspectorate.
During the unannounced inspection, the inspector spent time speaking with young people, staff, and external professionals, observing ...day-to-day life within the home and reviewing the care and support being provided.
The report praised the highly skilled staff team and their role as strong advocates for young people, noting excellent communication and positive partnerships with external professionals. One professional described Kettle Mill as a “therapeutic and nurturing environment”, reflecting the strong multi-agency support around each young person.
Inspectors also recognised the personalised opportunities available to young people, from swimming and trampolining to holidays, shopping trips, and creative activities, helping them build confidence, develop interests, and create positive memories.
Behind this is a dedicated team, supported by strong leadership and a positive culture where staff feel respected, valued, and empowered to provide the highest standard of care. The report praised the service’s commitment to training, reflective practice, and ensuring young people receive the right support at the right time.
Please join us in congratulating the entire Kettle Mill team on this fantastic achievement. For one of our newest services to receive such positive recognition is something to be incredibly proud of! 💪

How do you grow an organisation without losing sight of what matters most?
In episode 5 of our podcast series, Mrs Sheridan takes us behind the scenes of Moore House Group’s journey; sharing the real stories, turning points, and challenges that shaped its growth along the way.
...From launching a non-profit fostering agency in the early 90s to building a Virtual Academy during COVID-19, every service came from one simple question: What do children and young people need that doesn’t exist yet?
Mrs Sheridan reflects on the moments that changed everything - including the early Through Care model, the creation of a dedicated Psychological Services team, and the development of In-Touch, providing lasting support for young people long after they leave care.
A candid conversation about leadership, innovation, and never losing sight of the young people at the heart of it all... Available to listen wherever you get your podcasts!

We had a brilliant day representing Moore House Group and Abercorn Clinic at the Children in Scotland Annual Conference 2026!
It was a wonderful opportunity to network and connect with fellow professionals, educators, and support teams all focused on one shared goal: improving the lives of... children across Scotland.
This year is particularly special as the conference marks 20 years of #GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) the national policy framework designed to ensure all young people are safe, healthy, respected, and supported. 🌟
If you are at the event and missed us today, we’ll be back in the exhibition hall tomorrow. Be sure to stop by and say hello (and help yourself to a teddy!) 🧸
