A rare opportunity is available for a Day Service Childcare Practitioner to join our MHG Dunkeld Campus.

The school is set in a rural setting that provides a safe and tranquil environment for the children and young people and a beautiful place to work.

Moore House Group Dunkeld Campus is the perfect place to be – it is close to both Perth and Blairgowrie, and offers the best of both worlds. Conveniently placed off the A9, the school is set amongst the hills of Highland Perthshire.

About the position:

As a Day Service Practitioner you will actively support the educational and personal development of children and young people within the school environment and/or local community. You will provide high quality care, ensuring the physical comfort, health, and wellbeing of children and young people.

You will become an important part of our children’s lives, building positive, trusting relationships and using therapeutic approaches to support children and young people in understanding and managing their experiences, particularly those affected by trauma, loss, and neurodiversity.

About you:

Ideally, you will have experience working with neurodiverse children and young people, preferably in an educational, residential, or community care setting.

You will be highly motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and enthusiastic about working with children and young people. You will be caring, resilient and have a genuine commitment to the welfare of children and young people.

Job Type & Working Hours:

  • This is a permanent position, contracted to 46 weeks per year.
  • Working hours of 24 per week, spread across 3 days between Monday – Friday, covering school hours.
  • Working days will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

Salary & Benefits:

As a Day Service Practitioner you will earn a generous salary, as well as fantastic staff benefits.

  • Grade 1 (no qualifications): £14,598.46
  • Grade 2 (HNC or SVQ3 qualifications): £14,942.44
  • Grade 3 (HND): £15,286.37
  • Grade 4 (Degree or above): £15,630.40
  • Grade 5 (HNC and SVQ3 qualifications): £16,334.28
  • Grade 6 (HND and SVQ3 qualifications): £17,006.31
  • Grade 7 (Degree or above and SVQ3 qualifications): £17,680.51

These are the salaries you will earn for working 0.6FTE (24 hours per week). They are based on our Practitioner Salary Grades, and pro rata’d to 46 weeks.
