Moore House Group is a forward-thinking organisation which provides a range of services to meet the changing needs of children and young people who are looked after and accommodated in Scotland.
This role is primarily focused on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming home environment for children and young people, alongside preparing simple, home-style meals.
Cooking duties involve practical, everyday meals and supporting young people to develop basic life skills in the kitchen.
About the Role:
Your time will be split across three small residential homes:
- 22 hours per week across two houses located next to each other
- 8 hours per week at a third house
You will:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the homes
- Help manage laundry, linen and household supplies
- Help prepare simple, balanced meals for young people
- Carry out food shopping and basic stock control
- Support young people to learn practical life skills (e.g. safe use of oven or microwave)
- Work as part of a small, supportive residential team
Working Pattern
- 30 hours per week
- 52 weeks per year (not term-time only)
- Minimum availability across 4 days per week ( hours can be spread across more days if preferred)
- Working pattern agreed at interview
- Flexibility around start and finish times can be discussed
- Annual leave is accrued pro rata in line with contracted hours.

Other Requirements
- Must hold a full UK driving licence
- Subject to Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check
- Employment references, including from current or most recent employer, will be required.
Please note that all roles within Moore House Group are subject to annual salary benchmarking. As a result, the salary for this post will be reviewed and is expected to increase from April 2026 in line with organisational benchmarking outcomes.
