Dr Stephen Drysdale

Stephen is responsible for the overall management of the services provided by Moore House Group, in line with the strategic objectives established by the Board of Directors. Stephen holds a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology from the University of Nottingham, with research interests including developmental trauma and resilience in young people. Stephen studied psychology as an undergraduate at The University of St Andrews followed by the MSc in Forensic Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).

Stephen is on the Management Committee for Educating through Care Scotland (EtCS); the association for residential independent schools and services which provide care and education for children and young people with additional support needs. He guest lectures on the undergraduate Psychology course and MSc in Forensic Psychology programme at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and has presented material at conferences in the UK and Ireland.

Stephen strongly advocates that relationships and shared positive experiences with trusted adults are at the core of successful therapeutic placements. He joined Moore House in 2005 and has held various roles across our care, education and psychological services prior to taking up post as Director in 2019. With over 15 years experience in social care, and a background in teaching and the NHS, Stephen is dedicated to improving the life chances for young people in Scotland.
