Fiona Duncan

Head of Training and Development

Beginning in Residential Childcare, Fiona gained firsthand insight into supporting children in care. This foundation led her to The Prince’s Trust, where she honed her skills in empowering young individuals to achieve their potential. A significant shift saw Fiona training as a paramedic however she missed being involved in training and development of people. This rich background culminated in a move into Further Education, where she began to shape her expertise in training and development.

The roots of Fiona’s passion lie in her upbringing as her parents were full-time foster carers. This personal experience ignited a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of children and young people, fueling her to ensure that staff are equipped with the best possible training. Fiona firmly believes that well-trained professionals are the cornerstone of positive outcomes, and she tirelessly advocates for comprehensive learning and development initiatives. Her approach is not merely about imparting knowledge but about fostering a culture of continuous improvement, enabling staff to effectively address the needs of the children and young people they support.

When not at her work, she enjoys escaping on adventures in her caravan. A passionate supporter of rugby, she enthusiastically cheers on her teams from the stands during the season.
