Tracey Ford-McNicol
Head of Education - Dunkeld
I am honoured and privileged to lead Moore House Academy, Dunkeld and to work with our young people, staff team, parents and carers and professional partners.
I have more than three decades of experience, working with young people with additional support needs,
both as a teacher and latterly as a senior manager. I am passionate about helping others, especially the most vulnerable who get the least out of our systems, and I am energised and committed to supporting them to realise their potential and achieve their ambitions.
I strongly believe that challenges can become opportunities as long as we work as a team and
communicate with each other. I pride myself in being a role model to ensure that all our staff members
work positively and promote equality and diversity. I respect diversity; challenge inequality; and
promote inclusion and participation.
My approach to work is characterised by commitment, motivation and energy. I have strong
communication skills developed from working with a wide range of young people, colleagues and
partners as well as from my volunteering experiences within the local community and as a member of
the Children’s Panel. Using my creative and responsive leadership style which I believe I have developed over the last three decades through a number of change management projects, I am open to change and can respond flexibly to new challenges providing momentum when driving change.
I have real belief that high-quality teaching and learning within an environment where positive
relationships are at the centre, our young people can gain the skills, knowledge and understanding they
need for their life’s journey.
