Dr Stephen Drysdale
Chief Executive Officer
Stephen’s dedication to Moore House Group spans nearly two decades. He has held various roles across care, education, and psychological services, gaining invaluable experience and leading with a clear vision: to ensure that every young person under their care has the chance to reach their full potential.
As Chief Executive Officer, Stephen is responsible for the overall management of the services provided by Moore House Group, in line with the strategic objectives established by the Board of Directors and Trustees. Stephen holds a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology, with research interests including developmental trauma and resilience in young people.
Stephen also serves as a Trustee for Scottish Attachment in Action, and on the Management Committee for Educating through Care Scotland. These roles allow him to advocate for children with additional support needs and promote the importance of secure attachment for healthy development.
Stephen is an honorary lecturer on the undergraduate Psychology course and MSc in Forensic Psychology programme at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). He has also guest lectured on the BA Education and Social Services, and HNC Childhood Practice programmes at West College Scotland, the Employability Skills Programme at The University of St Andrews, and has presented material at conferences in the UK and Ireland.
Stephen strongly advocates that relationships and shared positive experiences with trusted adults are at the core of successful therapeutic placements. With over 18 years experience in social care, and a background in teaching and the NHS, Stephen is dedicated to improving the life chances for young people in Scotland.
