Moore House Group was established in 1988 to work with young people who have
experienced challenges in life. We have high aspirations for our children and young
people, aiming to give them the best possible opportunities to succeed in their lives and
we are now recruiting an inspirational Teacher to join our existing teaching team at our
academy in Butterstone, Dunkeld.
The ethos we create in Moore House Academy – Butterstone provides our children and
young people with a happy, friendly and stimulating learning environment where they feel
safe, secure and valued. Our calm, purposeful and supportive environment is built on
mutual respect with staff who understand the importance of supporting our young people
to develop resilience and to grow in confidence in order to re-engage in their learning. The
peaceful rural environment of Moore House Academy- Butterstone presents a myriad of
opportunities for outdoor learning and lends itself to naturally therapeutic approaches.
The emotional and neurodiverse challenges that our children and young people face on a
daily basis are more important than any specific diagnosis. These challenges can include:
- Social difficulties;
- Social communication difficulties;
- Sensory issues;
- Developmental immaturity;
- Mood disorder;
- Trauma; and avoidance, including school refusal.
The postholder will plan, manage and deliver Curriculum for Excellence through high
quality learning and teaching, contributing to effective interdisciplinary learning. Working
in partnership with colleagues across services, the postholder will contribute effectively to
the vision and values of the organisation, engaging positively with children using creative
and innovative approaches to fully engage them in their learning.
