Louise began her career working in homeless accommodation. During this time she worked with a number of care leavers which brought her to her career in residential child care. She gained her HNC Social and Health Care, SVQ 3 Children & Young People, SVQ4 Children & Young people and recently completed her SVQ Leadership and Management.
Louise has worked in residential child care since 2005, initially as a practitioner before progressing to management in 2016. She has taken advantage of a range of training opportunities including Rickter Scale, bully-proofing, self harm, Designated Child Protection Officer, DDP level 1 and 2, among many others.
Louise is one of our child protection trainers for the organisation. She relishes the role as well as her role as Lead Registered Service Manager. She believes that every child, no matter their past, with the correct guidance, support, boundaries, nurture, care, structure, routine and love can go on to have a positive future. Louise’s heart is in residential child care, leading her teams and creating positive outcomes for every child in our care.
Louise prides herself on the role she plays in the lives of Scotland’s most vulnerable children
