Louise Cushen

Depute Head of Care

Before coming to Moorehouse in 2015, Louise worked in homeless accommodation. During this time she worked with a number of care leavers which brought her onto her career in residential child care. 

Louise has worked in residential child care since 2005, initially as a practitioner before progressing to management in 2016, her experience in residential childcare has supported her to become a supportive leader  in residential childcare. She has taken advantage of a range of training opportunities including Rickter Scale, bully-proofing, self harm, Designated Child Protection Officer,  DDP level 1 and 2, SCM among many others. Louise is one of our child protection trainers for the organisation. She relishes the role as well as her role as Depute Head Of Care. 

Louise believes that every child, no matter their past, with the correct guidance, support, boundaries, nurture, care, structure, routine and love can go on to have a positive future. Louise’s heart is in residential child care, leading the management team and residential teams in a supportive role modelling way creating positive outcomes for every child in our care. 

Louise prides herself on the role she plays in the lives of Scotland’s most vulnerable children.
